Cultivating Compassion: Emerging from the Shadow of Shame

Jan 6th through March 31st 2026

Tuesdays 630-830p

Location disclosed to registered participants

Space limited 12 attendees-

Join us for a 12-week journey designed for queer men including trans men and non-binary individuals in recovery, held in a confidential, closed-circle setting. Each weekly 2-hour session invites you to address and transform the shame stemming from cultural conditioning, as well as the intersections of queer culture, addiction, and recovery.

Through a blend of ancient wisdoms, cross-cultural tools, and contemporary trauma-informed practices, you will move from isolation to connection, from self-judgment to self-compassion, and from stigma to solidarity.

Together, we will explore the cultural and personal messages that shape shame and self-concept. We'll examine how queer culture, childhood experiences, and addiction intersect—and learn to disentangle them without blame.

Session Format:

  • Weekly 2-hour closed-circle meetings
  • Guided dialogue and psychoeducation
  • Experiential exercises and shared processing with peers
  • Normalizing experiences to reduce isolation and build accountability
  • Access to cross-cultural and ancient teachings reframed for modern healing through anthropological, spiritual, and psychological perspectives

Expected Outcomes:

  • Reduced shame and heightened self-compassion
  • Deeper insights into the roots of addictive patterns and strategies to alter them
  • More authentic connections within the recovery community
  • A living toolbox of practices to support ongoing healing beyond the 12 weeks

Who This Is For:

  • Queer men in recovery seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed approach
  • Individuals ready to explore the impact of cultural conditioning and childhood experiences on current behaviors
  • Participants who value peer support, lived experiences, and an inclusive, nonjudgmental space

$300 total ($25 per week), $275 if paid in full before Jan 5, 2026.

This is a suggested donation for fair and equitble exchange. Reduced rate is available for those who need.
